Champaign, OH:  Ooh La La-Happy News!

I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was younger
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was stronger…
(Rod Stewart)

Hello! It’s a sunshine Thursday morning, and I am bringing you the best news!

Your Hippie has been cleared for action!! I was released from my surgeon and plastic surgeon, yesterday, and need no additional procedures!! So, that means, after all these weeks, I can return to baking for the market!!

When the market opens, this evening, you will find that I have brought back some past favorites and added new frozen pizza varieties!!

ANDONE NOTE ABOUT PICK UP!!!!

I have stern, and I mean, real stern instructions, not to be out in the direct sun. So, with today being all about the sun and 90 degrees, I will be watching for your cars to pull up, from inside the meat shop. Just pull up to the greenhouse door, and I will then be out to give you your orders!! I just need a bit of patience, and you will then be on your way!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Martin's Farmstand:  Weblog Entry

It feels like summertime on the farm with warm nights and the sound of the irrigation pumps running. Yes it is that dry already. The strawberries are in peak bloom and need about 2 inches of water per week for the next three weeks. The young transplants also are not rooted deeply yet so need a bit of water. We are picking cucumbers from the greenhouse now ( still limited amounts) and there are lots of regular onion scallions ready to harvest. If anyone needs frozen peeled garlic keep us in mind as there is still quite a lot of that left. We just cut the last of the greenhouse lettuce heads and the field lettuce is still one to two weeks out yet before harvest begins. I expect the first spring seeded spinach to be ready by sometime next week. Daniel

Lathemtown Farm Fresh Market:  This Week at the Market

We are open! A bit late ????
It’s hard to wait… but summer veggies are growing and still a few week out. There are squash coming in that I will put in the stand as they get big enough. Hopefully next week I can put them in the market, but for now it will be a small amount. Everything else is just doing well and growing! We are having to water daily, so once we get a good soaker I imagine things will pick up. As for now, the delightful spring coolness is perfect for the greens and lettuce.
I will be heading out of town Saturday for a couple days with my parents so the farm will be in the hands of the young ones. If you need any eggs or veggies between markets, it will be towards the end of next week when I get back.
Have a great week!
Farmher Chef Amy
